Salisbury man identified as victim of fatal shooting in Howard County

SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting in Howard County.

Around 10:35 p.m. on August 19th, Howard County Police responded to a parking lot off of Dove Sail Lane and Merriweather Drive in Columbia for a reported shooting. Witnesses told police that a male suspect approached the victim as he was entering a vehicle and shot him at close range before getting away.

The victim has only been described as a 39-year-old Salisbury man who was staying in the area. Detectives believe the shooting was targeted.
