Motorcyclist from Berlin dies after being struck by Jeep on Route 50

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – A Berlin man died as a result of his injuries sustained in a crash on Wednesday morning.

Around 10:17 a.m., Maryland State Police responded to Route 50 at Inlet Isle Lane for a reported crash. Investigators said 65-year-old Dennis Ellis was traveling westbound on his motorcycle when he was struck by a Jeep that failed to yield the right of way at the intersection.

Ellis was taken by ambulance to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital, where he later died. The driver of the Jeep was identified as a 17-year-old male, and the passenger identified as an 18-year-old female. Neither of them was hurt.

Police issued a traffic citation for the driver of the Jeep. The investigation continues.
