BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – Delaware State Police are searching for a Bridgeville man who they say assaulted a DelDOT worker.

On August 5th, around 9:30 a.m., troopers responded to Handy Road near Craft Road in Bridgeville. Police say 30-year-old John Gleysteen had arrived at that location on a tractor and collided with a DelDOT tractor that was mowing grass. Gleysteen is accused of arguing with the worker before leaving. When he returned, police say Gleysteen took a chainsaw from his truck and placed the running device near the tractor’s tire. Investigators say Gleysteen then forced his way into the DelDOT tractor’s cab, assaulted the worker, damaged property, and left the scene. The victim was not hurt.

Police describe Gleysteen as a white male, about 5’10”, and weighing 185 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes, and was last seen driving a Ford F-250 with a Delaware vanity registration plate number SUPRTUF. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact investigators at 302-337-1090. Information can be provided anonymously to Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
