Arrest made after police say masked gunman fired shots at fleeing vehicle

LEWES, Del. – A Lewes man is facing charges after police say he was involved in a shooting on Monday night.

Around 11:04 p.m., Delaware State Police responded to the parking lot of Mr. P’s Pizza on Kings Highway. Investigators say an 18-year-old man had driven there to pick up a pair of 16- and 17-year-old girls. When he arrived, police say the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Elijah Bush, was wearing a ski mask and talking to the girls. As they were getting into the victim’s vehicle, police say Bush pulled a gun and fired several shots, striking the vehicle as it left the area. No one was hurt.

Bush was arrested a short time later and is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $52,100 cash bond.
