Fatal crash in Farmington under investigation

FARMINGTON, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash in Farmington.

On July 6th around 1:00 a.m., police say a GMC pickup truck was speeding on Shawnee Road, just south of Breezy Meadow Lane. Investigators believe the truck veered off the roadway and struck two trees.

The driver was identified as a 21-year-old Greenwood man, and police say he was pronounced dead on scene. His identity is being withheld until his family is notified. Shawnee Road was closed for about three and a half hours as investigators worked and cleared the scene.
