FRUITLAND, Md. – Fire investigators are blaming an electrical failure for a house fire in Fruitland on Thursday.

At 3:07 p.m. on July 17th, the Fruitland Volunteer Fire Company responded to the 200 block of North Camden Avenue. A two-story home was on fire, and investigators say it was occupied at the time.

It took 25 firefighters about 20 minutes to defeat the flames. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire was called in by a passerby. Investigators believe it started in the attic and caused about $100,000 in damage.

The fire has been ruled accidental.
