Donation to help roof repairs at historic Waterfowl Building in Easton
EASTON, Md. – Easton’s historic Waterfowl Building is getting a big helping hand thanks to Dave Wilson Sr. and the Preston Automotive Group.
A $25,000 donation will support essential roof repairs for the downtown building. The structure was built in 1927 and was formerly the National Guard Armory. It’s home to the annual Waterfowl Festival, as well as several other community events throughout the year.
“We’re incredibly proud to support the restoration of a space that is a landmark of the town of Easton … Supporting its restoration is about more than preserving a structure. It’s about honoring the memories, traditions, and sense of community that make the Eastern Shore feel like home,” Wilson said in a news release.
Future plans for interior renovations will continue to take shape over the next year. Community input and funding availability will sway how quickly that process moves along.
