Delaware man arrested in connection with Salisbury fatal shooting
SALISBURY, Md. – Maryland State Police have arrested a Delaware man in connection with a fatal June 2024 shooting in Salisbury.
28-year-old Fernando Medino-Moreta of Lincoln, Del. is charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as other related charges. He is currently being held in Delaware and awaiting extradition.
Around 2:30 a.m. on June 10, 2024, Salisbury Police responded to the 700 block of East Nayor Mill Road for a reported shooting. Officers found 23-year-old Franklin Abraham Perez Rodriguez suffering gunshot wounds. He was taken to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital, where he later died.
Medino-Moreta was arrested after an anonymous caller phoned in a tip to Delaware State Police. The caller told investigators that a man wanted in connection with a Maryland homicide was in a parking lot in Millsboro, Del. Troopers responded and placed Medino-Moreta under arrest.
