Dover man connected to several “KKK” graffiti incidents on public property

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police have connected six graffiti incidents to 28-year-old Isiah Worthy of Dover.
Worthy was arrested on April 13 as part of the initial investigation. Investigators accuse Worthy of making graffiti in reference to the “KKK” on public property around the city, using a permanent marker. Police called the defacement of a sign in front of Holy Trinity Church “the most concerning case” in the investigation.
“There is a considerable and understandable community concern related to the vandalism of a predominantly [sic] black house of worship that includes a reference to the KKK,” stated Dover Police Chief Thomas Johnson.
Dover Police are working with the Delaware Department of Justice Division of Civil Rights and Public Trust in the investigation. Investigators have not yet established whether the elements of the case constitute it as a hate crime.
“Hate of any kind, whether it be speech of violence by anyone or any group will not, I repeat, will NOT be tolerated. I personally will use all my authority to see that any individual, or group of individuals, no matter who they are, when possible, are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” stated Dover Mayor Robin Christiansen.
Police ask anyone with information on the case to contact them at 302-736-7143.
