Seaford High School moves to asynchronous learning Thursday following shooting

SEAFORD, Del. – Seaford High School will operate on an asynchronous learning day on March 12 following a shooting in the community on Tuesday night.

School district officials say no current students were injured.

“We recognize that many have close family ties within the community. In light of the fear, anger, and uncertainty this may cause, I am concerned that tomorrow could be an emotionally charged day, particularly for our high school students,” Superintendent Dr. Sharon DiGirolamo stated on the school district’s Facebook page.

The superintendent added that shifting to asynchronous learning will allow the school district to work with local law enforcement, provide outreach to impacted families and students, and coordinate additional counseling for those in need of support.
