MDOT working to keep roadways safe a part of the Vision Zero program
MARYLAND – MDOT is working to keep the roadways safe throughout the summer months.
It’s a part of their Vision Zero program which aims to eliminate deaths and or serious injury across all Maryland highways. The state is trying to change driving behavior including distracted driving, impaired driving, speeding, and more.
MDOT says to successfully reduce these accidents, the public has to do their part. “We need the assistance, obviously, of the drivers. Make sure they put their phone down, pay attention, obviously, drive sober, get home safe, and keep everyone else safe on the roadways,” said Paul Wiedefeld, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation.
