MD NAACP responds to Biden ending campaign

MARYLAND – The NAACP is urging voters to stay educated on how this will impact the race moving forward.

Maryland NAACP Youth and College Division President Dorien Rogers says the organization is trying to spread information among black communities and young people. Rogers says they’re working to ensure those voters make the best personal decisions when they hit the polls on issues like education, women’s health, student debt relief, and more.

Rogers says knowledge is important, especially for youth. “We want to make sure that our communities understand what those processes look like. They can have access to research, what those look like in the ways in which they can understand it. But most importantly, they reaffirm the importance of what democracy means for all of us, especially as black and brown people,” said Dorien Rogers, President of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Youth and College Maryland State Conference.

The NAACP is a non-partisan organization and therefore will not endorse any candidate or party.
