Shooting investigation underway in Ellendale

ELLENDALE, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting in Ellendale. Sunday, troopers responded to the area of Main Street between Prettyman Avenue and Route 113.

WMDT is told by Ellendale Assistant Fire Chief Aaron Moore that the shooting took place just before 4:30 p.m. The victim was taken to the fire station by witnesses.

Crews provided lifesaving measures until the victim was taken to Bayhealth Sussex Campus in Milford. Nearby roadways were closed as part of the investigation, which is ongoing.
