Ocean Pines PD ramping up speeding enforcement

OCEAN PINES, Md. – In Ocean Pines, police are asking drivers to pay extra attention to speed limits.

Ocean Pines Police Chief Tim Robinson says his department has been receiving calls, Facebook messages, and emails about speeding drivers. He adds that recent accidents were caused by distracted drivers behind the wheel under the influence.

Chief Robinson says they are ramping up enforcement to address these unsafe habits. “Just making sure that we’re out there, present for them to see us. And to know that we’re out there conducting speed enforcement as they come around the corner that we might be there waiting to remind the motorists that we are strictly monitoring the speed limit,” said Chief Robinson.

Ocean Pines Police will also be putting road closures in place for the July 4th weekend. They will share road closure event information closer to the holiday.
