Fire marshal investigating fatal fire near Ocean View

OCEAN VIEW, Del. – A fatal fire in Ocean View is under investigation.

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal says the blaze was reported in a mobile home between Millville and Clarksville around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Crews Responded to the 35000 block of Bethany Crest Lane, finding an unconscious subject inside of the structure.

Firefighters were able to remove the victim, however they did not survive. The victim’s body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for identification and to determine cause of death. No other injuries were reported.

Investigators are trying to determine where and how the fire started. They say damage to the mobile home is estimated at $50,000.
