Safari at the Quarry organizers tout event success

Safari At The Quarry

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md – Organizers of Safari at the Quarry are touting a successful first outing for the off-road jeep event in Wicomico County.

Brad Hoffman of Livewire Media tells 47ABC that they were able to control for any traffic or crowding challenges and that they saw an enthusiastic crowd from across the east coast turn out for the off-roading course located in Delmar.

They tell us the event was successful enough that they hope to bring it back in future years, citing just how smoothly the event ran and the start-up costs that have now been put forward.

“We had about a little over 150 Jeeps register about 3 to 400 people show up because each jeep typically has 2 to 3 people in it. And then we had vendors come from all over the mid-Atlantic,” Hoffman said adding “These people are very docile and they traverse the property like 7 to 8 miles an hour, led by professional guides, and enjoyed the property, and so I think we have a diamond in the rough with the quarry location.”

Brad Hoffman of Livewire media also thanked County Executive Julie Giordano for allowing the event to move forward despite the dispute over the land use with the county council, and will be attending Tuesday’s council meeting to advocate for the event’s return in future years.
