One man dead in Greenwood after crash early Sunday morning

GREENWOOD, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred this morning in Greenwood.

Sunday, just after 5:30 A.M. a Mercury Mountaineer was traveling northbound on Greenwood Road, north of Tomahawk Branch Road. For unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the east side of the road and crashed into several trees before overturning on its roof.

The driver, a 65-year-old man from Felton, Delaware, was not properly seat belted and pronounced dead at the scene. At this time his name is being withheld until his family is notified.

The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while investigators examined the scene and cleared the roadway.
