One man dead in Dover, police investigating

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man dead Saturday evening.

Dover Police Department was called for a shooting in the area of New Castle Avenue and East Water Street at 4:22 P.M. Officers responded and located the victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was taken to Bayhealth Kent Campus for treatment. He was pronounced dead at the hospital as a result of his injuries. The victim’s name is being withheld until his family is notified.
