MSHA making roadway improvements ahead of summer season travel

MARYLAND – The Maryland State Highway Administration is also tracking holiday travel.

The agency is gearing up to help thousands of travelers “Reach the Beach” in a safe manner.  Some of that includes the pavement re-striping at various locations on Coastal Highway in Ocean City.

Charlie Gischlar with MSHA is calling these changes necessary as more people come to the area. “Where your going to start see more and more drivers heading eastbound to the Maryland beaches, Ocean City, Assateague, and also points just on the Eastern Shore in general so we’re preparing for that since the last vacation season like last fall because its been kind of encroaching through fall now we’ve improved a lot of the roadways directly,” said Charlie Gischlar, the Spokesperson for MSHA.

Gischlar adds the highway administration is also increasing roadside patrols.
