A Gift of Life, Father’s Day event raising money for kidney disease
SALISBURY, Md. – Next month we celebrate Father’s Day.
Ahead of that, local organization, A Mother’s Cry is hosting a celebration for fathers battling kidney disease. Founder Jamesina Greene says thousands of people in the state of Maryland are waiting for a kidney donation, adding that men may often overlook their health. At the luncheon, she’s planning to highlight the power of kidney donorship.
A member from the Kidney Foundation will also be there to provide insight to become a donor and more information about kidney disease. “We just want the community to help us to recognize that kidney disease is a major issue in our community. We want to magnify – shine a light on the men in our community because they are very important to us,” said Greene.
You can sign up here for $30.00, that money will be donated to the kidney foundation.
The event will be held at the Chipman Cultural Center in Salisbury on June 15th.
