Virginia man sentenced for June 2023 stabbing in OC
WORCESTER CO., Md. – A Virginia man has been sentenced on charges stemming from a stabbing last summer in Ocean City.
Just after midnight on June 7, 2023, Ocean City Police responded to the 7900 block of Coastal Highway, locating a victim suffering from two stab wounds, one on his right hip and the other on his left forearm. The victim told police that he had accidentally bumped into a man, identified as 18-year-old Jackson Perry, while walking up the street with a group of friends earlier that evening. The victim reportedly refused Perry’s demands for an apology, leading to an altercation between multiple people in the two friend groups, leading to the victim being assaulted. Various photos and videos taken around the time of the incident led police to identify Perry as the suspect, who surrendered to police a short time later.
Perry was sentenced last week to five years behind bars for reckless endangerment and possession of a knife and will be placed on three years probation on release.
