MDTA warning of toll phishing scam
MARYLAND – The Maryland Transportation Authority is warning the public about a recent scam.
MDTA officials say some customers received text messages saying they owed highway tolls. However, the MDTA does not reach out to customers through text saying they are committed to ensuring the highest level of service for toll customers.
The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is committed to ensuring the highest level of service and security for all of our DriveEzMD tolling customers. We urge all tolling customers to exercise caution and only use trusted sources for any transactions or inquiries related to their accounts.
Please be aware that neither DriveEzMD nor the MDTA sends text messages requesting unpaid toll payments. For accurate account information and secure payment options, customers should use the official DriveEzMD mobile app or visit https://www.driveezmd.com/
For additional assistance please directly contact us at 1-888-321-6824, utilize the web chat on DriveEzMD or visit any of our customer service centers statewide. Our dedicated agents are here to support you.
Stay safe and secure by relying only on official channels for all your tolling needs. Thank you for choosing and trusting the MDTA’s DriveEzMD.
