Worcester County seeing USPS scams, stay vigilant
WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – In Worcester County, the sheriff’s office has a warning for you.
They are seeing postal service text scams. Sheriff Matt Crisafulli says they are happening across the nation and people are looking to steal your information. He says the recipient is tricked by trying to check for a package and once you click the link, the scammer has your information.
To avoid this, Sheriff Crisafulli says you should stay vigilant.”Go to the source, if you’re not sure you’re getting a package or not and its a United States Postal Service, go to your local post office. If it’s UPS or if it FEDex, you contact the appropriate resource before clicking on any links or before giving out any of your personable-identifying information,” said Sheriff Crisafulli.
If you come across this scam contact the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office.
