New Ocean Pines Police Officers will see a $12K Increase in Salary
OCEAN PINES, Md. – In Ocean Pines, new police officers are going to see a pay bump.
Police Chief Tim Robinson says this will help with attracting new officers to the department as retaining and attracting officers has been an issue in the past. He tells us neighborhood officials were able to come together to make this happen.
The increase for new officers could be more than 12 thousand dollars. “They have raised the starting salary of a brand new police officer almost $13,000 it was $50,800 and it is now been raised to $63,500 when you complete training. What they’ve done is they’ve now propelled the Ocean Pines Police Department into the ranks of the highest Police Department on the entire Eastern Shore,” said CHief Robinson.
Chief Robinson says interest in the Ocean Pines Police Department has skyrocketed. They are looking to hire about 4 new officers over the course of the year.
