Call for Change Ahead of 2024 Capital Operations Plan meeting in Crisfield

CRISFIELD, Md. – In Crisfield, a meeting is underway with the housing to discuss their 2024 capital operation plan.

A Crisfield resident of 20 years, who recently moved out of the area tells us area housing is “nothing.” Jessica Tilghman says the housing authority wants your rent money but does not want to fix anything in the homes. She said she had a leak in her sink before it caved in and that there was mold in her tub.

She tells us the housing authority needs to focus on remodeling. “I’m just saying that they can do better, they’re worried about the grass and the trees all around there, but they’re not worried about inside of the buildings. Like they just need to go ahead and not tear it down because people need places to live, but they really need to go ahead and remodel,” Tilghman said.

We reached out to the Housing Authority of Crisfield, who did not get back to us before air time. We will have more updates tomorrow on the issue of housing in Crisfield.
