New downtown Salisbury event announced from small business group

SALISBURY, Md – The downtown small business alliance of Salisbury is excited to announce its first event aimed at boosting up the small-town businesses.

The group, founded by  Nicole Blackwater of Blackwater Apothecary and Nicole Rogers of Two Scoops says they now have 12 downtown businesses on board to have an event independent of the third Friday event known as the Spring Street Market.

They say fall 2023 and this winter brought businesses to a crisis point but the event can show what downtown Salisbury can be with multiple businesses open during the same hours, a strong street presence, and a chance to earn repeat customers.

“We’ve had a really difficult last year downtown and we’re hoping to spring forward and bring abundance and prosperity to all of the businesses down here,” Blackwater said adding “It will be different from third Friday as rather than being to focus on just local art vendors, this is going to be a main focus on the downtown businesses.”

Blackwater tells us that her shop’s Halloween event saw over 1,000 people come out and with more businesses locked in they hope to top that number.
The event is scheduled for March 23rd from 12 to 5 pm.
