Laundromat Fire in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – The Maryland State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating a fire at a laundromat on Nanticoke Road in Salisbury on Saturday.

According to the MSFM the fire began at 1100 Nanticoke Road, Salisbury around 8 pm, and took 30 firefighters a half hour to bring under control.

Damages at the property are estimated at $350,000 for the structure and $250,000 for the contents.

47ABC spoke to Doug Parker with the Salisbury fire department when he was on scene.

“We had fire through the roof when we arrived.”

“Units arrived on the scene and established a water source.”

“Got inside, got the ceilings open up and got ahead of the fire rather quickly,” Parker said “No injuries, no civilian injuries and no fire fighter injuries.”

The MSFM cites in their initial investigation that the cause of the fire was accidental as a result of an unspecified failure within the commercial gas dryer exhaust system.
