Family displaced after Somerset County fire

PRINCESS ANNE, Md – The Maryland Office of the Fire Marshall is investigating a structure fire that has left the occupants displaced in Somerset County.

Firefighters were called to the residence at 29016 Polks Road in Princess Anne around 5 p.m.

Responding units from the. Vernon VFD was able to control the fire in under 2 hours.

Occupants  Robert and Shelia Lankford are being assisted by the American Red Cross and family members.

The preliminary cause of the fire is being ruled as an accidental electrical fire, with damages estimated at $130,000.
