Brain fog cases following long COVID leveling
BERLIN, Md. – doctors are still looking to find solutions for brain fog following long term COVID.
47 ABC new spoke to a local doctor to better understand the condition. Dr. Sally Dowling says brain fog stems from inflammation in the neurons in the brain, yet more research still needs to be done. The condition impacts a person’s thinking and perception. 90% of long COVID patients experience brain fog.
Dr. Dowling says there are things you can do at home to take care of yourself to prevent brain fog. “The things that help it are things that really foster your body’s healing processes. Eating healthy, fruits, vegetables, very limited processed foods. Cause processed foods can increase inflammation throughout your body,” said Dr. Sally Dowling with Atlantic General Hospital.
Dr. Dowling also recommends getting exercise, and managing your stress, along with getting vaccinated.
