LAUREL, Del. – The Laurel Police Department is investigating an early Sunday morning shooting that left three people injured in an apartment complex.
Police say around 2 a.m. they were called to the 2800 block of Daniel Street for shots fired, where they saw a large group of people fleeing an apartment. Police say the owner of the apartment told them at least three people had been struck by gunfire. Laurel Police tried to detain multiple cars fleeing from the residence but when they refused a chase ensued on that vehicle using stop sticks. Several subjects were taken into custody without incident, questioned, and then later released.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and over 50 spent casings were found in the home and surrounding area. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Laurel Police Detective Gardner at 302-875-2244 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
