20-year-old woman injured in Dover hotel shooting

DOVER, Del. –  Dover Police are investigating a shooting that left a 20-year-old woman from Pennsylvania with non-life-threatening injuries Friday night.

Dover police were notified at  10:58 p.m. Friday, February 17th  when Dover Police Department was called to the Wyndham Garden Hotel for the report of a shots fired.

The victim, a 20-year-old female of Cheltenham, PA had sustained gunshot wounds to her upper and lower body.

Officers on scene rendered aid until the victim was turned over to EMS personnel and transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus for non-life-threatening injuries.

The ensuing investigation revealed that there was a large party in the ballroom of the hotel and for unknown reasons, a suspect began shooting.

The suspect is only described as a male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt at this time.
