Uptick in Worcester County car break-ins
WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – In Worcester County, the sheriff’s office is seeing an uptick in car break-ins.
Sheriff Matt Crisafullii says that’s because people are leaving their car doors unlocked. The reports were primarily in the north end of Worcester County and Sheriff Crisafulli says the suspects are just going around pulling door handles to see which car is unlocked.
To get the suspects in custody, Maryland State Police are working with the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office to hold those individuals accountable. “Will be charged with theft from motor vehicle and depending on the type of property stolen and the amount for that. We want to be able to capture the people involved in this,” said Sheriff Matt Crisafulli.
Sheriff Crisafulli advises the community to harden the target. Keep your lights on, lock your doors, and stop leaving valuables in your car.
