Schools receive more time for Maryland’s Blueprint


MARYLAND – The Blueprint for Maryland’s future is getting some changes.

The plan invests funding at the state level to revamp public education, especially for those living in poverty. With the evaluation, it will expand career technologies and increase teacher salaries amid the teacher shortage. It’s a 10 to 13-year investment that came about during the pandemic.
Cheryl Bost with the Maryland State Education Association says there were bound to be tweaks because the pandemic ended and exacerbated circumstances. “It just really allows school districts to take a better look and turn in maybe more thoughtful and achievable plans, and we’re just hoping that they outreach to the community and educators as their continuing to transition towards the blueprint.
