Milford electric rates remain the lowest in the first state

MILFORD, Del. – Power cost adjustments are coming down the pipeline for Milford residents.

This comes after the electric company made budget adjustments and authorized different transmission rates. Making this a 4.8% increase for residential customers. The good news is the rate hasn’t changed for the worse. For an average bill, you’re looking at about $141 a month.

We spoke with the city who says the reputation for a time in Milford was the highest electric provider in the state, but with some changes, prices are now at record lows. “We have a green energy fund that is factored into the actual rate. Council has really looked at how to bring that rate structure down, over time this is a collaborative effort and the fruits of our labor here,” said Sara Bluhm, with the City of Milford.

Sara Bluhm with the City of Milford says to make sure you are looking at the correct part of your bill if you have all of your utilities in one.
