According to Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office the West bound span of the Bay Bridge is closed.
The bridge is shut down due to an earlier multi-vehicle crash. The Maryland Transportation Authority received the call at 8 A.M. this morning.
MDTA is planning to open the bridge back up, but travelers should expect extended delays and traffic. Currently, eastbound and westbound traffic is alternating on the east bound span. MDTA urges travelers to use caution and follow the directions of police officers and maintenance personnel in the area. Multiple patients have been transported to area hospitals.
The westbound side has now been reopened.
