2 taken to hospital following Cambridge house fire

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The Rescue Fire Company of Cambridge was alerted for a structure fire with a possible entrapment on Silver Goose Road.

The initial report was that the house was on fire and people on the scene were trying to get everyone out of the home. Two crews quickly responded. Dorchester County EMS advised that fire was showing through the roof and everyone had evacuated the building. Two people were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

At the scene, conditions did not improve because there was a limited amount of water, in the non-hydrant area. Multiple mutual aid departments were dispatched to assist.

Units on the scene operated for about 3 hours.
