Work van rear-ends school bus in Ellendale

ELLENDALE, Del. – A school bus was involved in an crash in Ellendale Thursday afternoon.

The Ellendale Fire Company (EVC) and Sussex County EMS responded to the 22000 block of Jefferson Road around 3:15 p.m. Crews found that a Cape Henlopen School District bus had been rear-ended by a work van.

EVC says the bus was carrying 12 middle school-aged children at the time of the crash. The drivers and passengers of each vehicle were assessed by EMS on scene, says the fire department; none required a trip to the hospital.
