Toys for Tots highlights need for donations ahead of giving deadline

SALISBURY, Md- The Wicomico County Toys for Tots has a message for those looking to donate toys and gifts ahead of the December 15th deadline.

“Fewer stuffed animals and more footballs for teens, and makeup for girls,’ said Regional Coordinator Dena Holloway.

Holloway tells 47ABC the organization has seen an overwhelming amount of stuffed animals donated, but is seeing a great need for sports equipment for teens, toys for kids ages zero to two, as well as full-sized bicycles.

They also remind those in the community to donate batteries for any toys or equipment that may require them.

Organizers say the need was greater this year with over 300 boxes being filled regularly throughout the area but they are still hoping to give all children the holiday they deserve.
