DELdot has flooding tips as Sunday nights rain moves out

DELAWARE – With all of Sunday’s heavy rain DELdot says you can check road conditions without leaving your home.

They have interactive maps on their website that monitor road conditions. You can take a look at what roads in your area look like before starting your commute. Since the heavy rains officials have seen flooding in coastal and other low-lying areas.

And while the rain may have slowed DELdot officials say the storm’s not over. “We’re continuing to watch the tide cycle. Even though the storm is moving off and we’re thankfully seeing the rain come to an end, that tide cycle especially for the next 24 hours could be problematic because we just had so much rain,” said C.R. McLeod with DELdot.

DelDOT is continuing to expand its road sensors to monitor road conditions during inclement weather.
