Wicomico County Capital Improvement plan in its drafting stages
SALISBURY, Md. – Following a public comment period Tuesday, Wicomico County says they are looking to add HVAC projects and two schools to the preliminary Capital Improvement Plan for the county.
The projects included Fruitland Intermediate and Westside Intermediate schools, in addition to helping to finish up other in-progress projects including the Mardela school and the new Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.
“We have a lot of rec and parks projects that are about 70% done, so I’m looking to finish those up, we have corrections that are going to start changing, and we’re going to have a building available because the sheriff’s office will be moving into their brand new building hopefully in the spring of next year, and so that building will be vacant and we’re looking to potentially expand corrections that way, so that landscape is going to change a little bit,” said County Executive Julie Giordano.
The full plan is set to be submitted to the county council by the third week of December.
