US Rep. Andy Harris weighs in on budget battle ahead of Nov. 17th default date

Rep. Harris On Gov Fundng Bill

Representative for Maryland’s 1st District Andy Harris tells 47abc that he is hoping moderates in the Senate will move forward with a plan he says Republicans intend to put forward, with modest spending levels and separating funding for Ukraine and Israel. He says he hopes Senate Democrats would vote to support the measure which he says would not see extensive cuts to social programs

“We have to stop the overspending, we have to stop the the debt growing as rapidly as it is, and I think what we send over to the Senate will be a first step in that, I hope they accept it and avoid a government shutdown, But in the end, it’s going to be up to the Senate,” Harris said.
