Toys For Tots highlights donation needs as deadline approaches
SALISBURY, Md – Toys for Tots of Wicomico County is ramping up their efforts as they enter their busiest season.
The organization says they need more toy donations for ages zero to two and for ages nine through 14.
They say for younger kids, they are looking for donations of toys, dolls, and educational books.
For the older kids, they are looking for makeup products for the girls and sports equipment for the boys, as well as full-size bikes for both.
Toys for Tots regional coordinator Dena Holloway says getting kids new gifts and seeing their eyes light up makes it all worth it, year after year.
“I can’t explain to you how great it is to for for us for a child to see a brand new toy. So much hope to them, the sparkle in their eyes, we just want to promote the hope, the kindness of everybody in the community passing forward,” Holloway said.
Holloway tells 47ABC that many retail stores will allow items to remain at their locations to be picked up by Toys For Tots if you let staff know you are purchasing it to be donated.
The final day for accepted donations is December 15th.
