Princeton Review Names SU as Green Sustainable Campus for 14th year

SALISBURY, Md- Salisbury University is touting a prestigious distinction for how sustainable its campus continues to be.
Princeton Review for the 14th consecutive year has named Salisbury University as one of the nation’s most environmentally responsible colleges.
SU Spokesman Jason Rhodes says that comes due to a number of factors, from sustainably designed buildings, having the shore first electric vehicle charges, and solar panels on several parking lots that help to provide partial power for multiple buildings.
However, Rhodes says it’s not just about infrastructure, but also how just how much greenery the campus features.
“Anybody who’s ever come to campus, who is a nationally registered arboretum, so you’ll see that all the trees are tagged and our maintenance team and our grounds crew is very proud of that fact,” Rhodes said.
Rhodes says, the school has also launched a student-run green fund to identify and implement programs including Solar Benches and LED light replacements in classrooms.
