Financial coaching classes available with the food bank

DELAWARE – The Food Bank of Delaware is now offering financial coaching to budget groceries this holiday season.

The food bank says through this partnership with Stand By Me, people will be better able to navigate the economy and keep food on the table. In the sessions, you’ll learn how to budget, increase your credit score, and take action on debt.

Food bank representatives give us a sneak peek of what else you can expect from the free classes. “It’s one on one and most of the time the first interview starts with what your situation looks like, and what your goals are, we fall under the coaching model of what does the client want, so whatever they’re looking to achieve is what we follow,” said Megan Zavala with the Food Bank.

In the past, class participants were able to reduce their debt by more than $276,000. For more information about the classes visit the Food Bank of Delaware’s website.
