Bushel basket tree is up in Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The bushel basket is up in Cambridge, its the signature Christmas tree for the area.
The tree is about 22 feet tall and made of completely donated baskets and ornaments. J. M. Clayton’s provided the baskets, they’re the state’s oldest crab processing facility. Community members donated items that were turned into ornaments.
The City’s Assistant Manager, Brandon Hesson says this is a community effort for a good cause. “It’s kind of nice getting to know people all throughout the county that bring the ornaments, stop and get their pictures taken with it or call me, Facebook message me. It’s a good opportunity to meet a lot of people from different places,” Hesson said.
City officials encourage you to come on down and get a look at the tree for yourself. The city of Cambridge will also have its parade this Saturday.
