Salisbury public art masterplan to happen this week

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury is expanding its art scene and the city wants you to be a part of it.

With the changing city, officials say this addition will help support the new Unity Square. The Public Art Master Plan 2023 has been launched. The city wants to know what kinds of art the public would like to see while identifying sustainable funding for public art and ensuring equitable policies to use the citys resources.

47ABC spoke with the Arts, Business, and Culture Department to learn more about the meeting surrounding this plan. “We’re looking forward to sharing that plan with people and we’re going to have Todd Bressi here who is a public art consultant that’s worked on the plan. So at this meeting, we’re going to be sharing that, hearing from members of the community, and also looking for people to join the public art committee,” said Vanessa Junkin, the Marketing and Outreach Manager, for the Arts, Business, and Culture Department within the City of Salisbury.

You can attend the meeting at Salisbury Headquarters on Wednesday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. For more information about the plan,  you can visit the city’s website.
