Marion Station man arrested for murder of 53-year-old woman

MARION STATION, Md. – A Somerset County man is behind bars following the murder of a woman early Sunday morning

Shortly before 3 a.m., troopers responded to a residence in the 28800 block of Hudson Corner Road after receiving a report that a female had been shot. Preliminary investigation revealed that troopers and officers with the Crisfield Police Department witnessed a man, identified as 42-year-old Morris Cotton III, leaving the residence. He was subsequently taken into custody.

Police then went into the residence to look for the victim, identified as 53-year-old Amy Uff. She was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services personnel.

Cotton has been charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is being held pending a bond hearing.
