UPDATE: Police identify man hit and killed by car in Ellendale

ELLENDALE, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a man in Ellendale Saturday night.
At around 11:15 p.m., police say a 2005 Toyota Avalon was traveling southbound on Dupont Boulevard in the left southbound lane. Another vehicle was stopped at a red light in the westbound lane of Milton-Ellendale Highway, while cars on Dupont Boulevard had the right of way. One of the passengers then reportedly got out of the vehicle and started walking westbound through the intersection, at which point he was hit by the Toyota as it changed lanes.
The pedestrian, a 23-year-old Harrington man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family and relatives.
The driver of the Toyota, a 32-year-old Milton man, suffered minor injuries.
