Flowbird Parking App to expand to Salisbury Parking Garage
SALISBURY, Md – The city of Salisbury is changing the way you’ll be paying for parking downtown, as it looks to expand its Flowbird mobile parking app system.
Starting in November, the Flowbird app will be used on East and West Main Street, Division Street, and the downtown parking garage.
Parking attendants will remain the in garage, and those without a cell phone will have an option to use the Flowbird terminals that will be installed as well.
However, the city does intend to move to a fully cashless system once the terminals are up and running, saying the new system should be more efficient.
“If you have a cell phone, another opportunity is where you’ll be able to get a ticket. But as we are moving into a cashless system, with the use of a mobile device, something that you can expect is once you choose your parking or you get to choose as you did and your destination, your time being there and from there is pretty simple,” said City of Salisbury communication specialist Jordan Ray.
The app will have short-term and long-term parking options and will incorporate those who pay a monthly fee for assigned parking spots downtown.
