Dorchester County seeking funding for road improvements
DORCHESTER COUNTY, Md. -Dorchester County is also putting requests in for state funding for other transportation improvements.
It’s a part of the annual priority list and those decisions will ultimately be up to the state. The county is asking local municipalities to provide issues they’d like to see addressed, including intersection changes and slowing down speed limits.
Dorchester County council leaders say they’re asking for the improvements in the name of safety. “What we’ve asked for is a normal range of projects, road safety, pedestrian safety, and road improvements that are responding to environmental change and we have multiple of each of those on our request list this year,” said Mike Detmer, Vice President of the Dorchester County Council.
We’re told the county looks forward to hearing back from Maryland Department of Transportation officials.
